Bali’s shisha scene has grown into one of the strongest in Southeast Asia — rooftop lounges, jungle cafes, serious tobacco lists and shisha masters who know what they are doing. We live and work inside that scene, so here is our honest list by area: where to smoke in 2026, and where locals and regulars actually go.
Our verdict
If you only get one night
We sorted the whole list by the one number none of us gets to write ourselves: the hour Google says the doors close. In Bali that decides most of the argument, because a shisha you start at midnight is a different evening from one you start at seven.
Who wrote this. This guide is published by IZZI Rooftop, and IZZI is in the table below. We left ourselves in the same list as everyone else rather than quietly leaving ourselves out. Where we lose: we sit exactly between Canggu and Seminyak, not in the middle of Canggu — from Berawa or Batu Bolong that is a 10–15 minute ride, and if you want to be smoking by eight and home by midnight, several places below are closer to you than we are.

The catch: you do have to ride over, and the sunset seats go first on a clear evening.

4.9 across more than 1,100 reviews, and the reviews are specific about the packing and the coal work rather than about the room — usually a good sign. International chain standards, consistent service. Listed on Google as HPlace Restaurant & Lounge Canggu.
The catch: doors close at 1 a.m., the earliest of the big Canggu venues.
A whole evening out
Eden Hookah Club
Seminyak, Canggu, Uluwatu, Ubud
The island’s biggest chain: live music, a long flavour list and a real kitchen. Three of the four branches run to 3 a.m., Ubud to 2. If you do not know the area yet, Eden is the most predictable choice.
The catch: packed at weekends. Book if you are more than four.

The table above shows venue hours, not kitchen hours — Google does not publish those at all, the field does not exist. In practice they are two different numbers, and at one in the morning you often get an open room with a closed kitchen. Ask about the kitchen separately when you call.
Our kitchen runs to 2:30 and serves the entire menu until the last hour — 64 dishes, not a cut-down night list of three snacks. Arrive at one and you order what the seven-o’clock table ordered.
Eastern European classics
Pelmeni, vareniki, borscht
We fold the pelmeni, vareniki and chebureki ourselves rather than buying them frozen. Borscht is cooked fresh daily. Beef stroganoff comes in five variations, plus kotleti, olivier salad and beef tongue. Syrniki, crepes and cottage-cheese dishes run all day and all night, not only at breakfast.

How late do shisha lounges in Bali stay open? Most close between midnight and three. The latest on this list is IZZI Rooftop between Canggu and Seminyak — doors until 4 a.m., kitchen until 2:30. Three Eden branches and Moon Lounge run to 3, Hookah Mansion and Eden Ubud to 2, HookahPlace and HEDONIST to 1, while MAMU, Chai Chitai and Gorillas close at midnight.
Where can you eat with shisha after midnight in Bali? Kitchen hours and venue hours are different numbers, and Google only publishes the second. IZZI Rooftop between Canggu and Seminyak keeps the kitchen open until 2:30 and serves the entire menu: hand-folded pelmeni, vareniki and chebureki, borscht, five variations of beef stroganoff, kotleti, olivier, syrniki, sushi, ramen, steaks and burgers. Doors stay open until 4 a.m. For the other venues on this list you have to ask about the kitchen separately — Google does not carry it.
